Functional Capacity Evaluations

A functional capacity evaluation is a set of tests and observations to determine your ability to return to work. It is a standardized objective assessment of your physical skills related to a specific job.

Here are seven reasons or incidents that may require a functional capacity evaluation:

You were involved in a job injury and must present a functional capacity evaluation before returning to work.
You are applying for Social Security Disability.
You are planning to return to work after a prolonged illness
A catastrophic event injured you
You are seeking to obtain vocational rehabilitation services
You are transitioning from supportive services to a work setting
After an injury, your physician would like to set a benchmark and rehabilitation goals.
