Alyssa is a Chesapeake native dedicated to helping patients restore function and return to the activities they enjoy most. She earned her undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University in 2014 and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Lynchburg in 2020. Her passion for physical therapy was solidified after shadowing a physical therapist at Norfolk General Hospital, where she discovered the impact of one-on-one, movement-based care. Alyssa has a strong clinical interest in treating high school and collegiate athletes, with an emphasis on safe return to sport and injury prevention. She also enjoys working with active adults and “weekend warriors,” including runners, pickleball players, and recreational athletes, as well as patients recovering from common orthopedic injuries, post-surgical conditions, and everyday aches and pains. She takes a personalized, movement-focused approach to care, meeting patients where they are and helping them build confidence as they recover. She plans to pursue advanced certification as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) or Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). Outside of the clinic, Alyssa enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, attending trivia nights at breweries, cheering on the UNC Tar Heels, and playing or watching basketball. She also loves music and discovering new playlists.
